We picked up the RV and headed through the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. How beautiful. Learned that the "TCS" button turns off the Anti-lock Brake System rather than turning on the extra cigarette lighter plug-in. (Oooops! ME is no longer allowed to touch any of the buttons without supervision.)
Following our Road Food guide (by Michael and Jane Stern), we stopped in New Market at the Southern Kitchen. Peanut soup was a 9! They said it was melted peanut butter, milk, onions, and black pepper. We followed that up with Fried Chicken, Carrots and Potatoes (ME) and Virginia Ham, Corn, and Green Beans (Tino). Overall, a solid 7.
Road Food has a website now, and Southern Kitchen is featured. There are lots of pictures posted.
Tino brought us into our first campground, just past Lexington in Natural Bridge, Virginia. It's pitch black here, so the morning will bring a surprise of new scenery. We hooked up the electricity and water and feel quite accomplished.
We're planning to see Natural Bridge tomorrow and then head off to Roanoke.
